why do children have more fun than adults?
why do children have more fun than adults? it seems to me that adults have lost all the fun out of life. why is this? are they too serious?
Because children don’t usually take themselves too seriously…a good lesson for all adults.
I remember reading a quote that said something like this:
‘When you’re really young you’re worried about what other people think.
When you are middle-aged you don’t care what other people think.
When you are much older you realize nobody actually cared anyway.’
Something good to remember I think. Great question!

Need help thinking of a fun Spanish activity to teach young children?
Well I need a fun way to teach children who are in 5th grade how to greet each other in Spanish. I don’t want to just give them a paper and tell them to memorize it. So please help :] and btw i’m not a teacher, i’m helping out at local elementary schools.
Here is some MAJOR help! I AM in fifth grade, so here’s some stuff I would like.
Have them get into two lines facing a partner in another line. Then tell them what to say, have them practice a few times, then the people on the first line would say the greeting with their partner’s name after it. Then the second line peeps would do the same. Then the person on the end of the first line would move to the other end, and the first line peeps would all rotate partners. It would be fun!

How do I deal with children who make fun of my autistic 8 year old son?
My beautiful youngest boy has high functioning autism…he has speech delay,at times rocking motions,and some other quirky behavior.He is highly sensitive and intelligent,and it bothers him for days on end when certain insensitive ‘typical’ children (usually around his age) call him names on the playground.
It breaks my heart.

‘Blue’ and ‘nv’–your utter ignorance amazes me!!
‘halfpint’–He is in mainstream about 80% of the time this year.Only in special ed. for speech therapy,OT,etc.
try talking to the principle about setting up a disabilities awareness day where parents of children with disabilities and children themselves with disabilities can come and talk to the students. While this won’t help all understand it will help some. The children that are really being horrible may need to have a "special talk". You could ask to speak with their parents or ask the teacher to call them in and talk to them so they can work all together to help these "typical" children accept others who are "special".
