How Much Should I charge to babysit 2 kids under crazy cirumstances?

I keep a 2 year old girl from 6:30 till 3:30 Monday thru Friday and she has a sister who is in pre-school. I have to take the girl who is in preschool to school and back which is 16 miles round trip. Then I have to go back and get her which is 16 miles round trip. So i take her to school and pick her up. What should I charge to keep the 2 year old all day and then take the other to and from school Monday thru Friday with gas at almost $3 a gallon.

I cant decide what I should charge in this situaton. I need help.

If you don’t want the job then turn it down.
Charge at least $10/hr.

Charge your actual expenses for fuel. Use an estimate such as 45 to 50 cents a mile for gas, oil, wear and tear.

how funny were those kids going crazy for Jeff despite the fact it was very obvious it was Punk?

If those kids are the future, we’re doomed.

I have to admit .. when the music hit I thought it would be him but when Punk came out I could easily tell it wasn’t Jeff.

That proves how bad young wrestling fans are these days, they can’t tell their favourite wrestler from their least favourite wrestler.

Why are fast food restaurants full of crazy kids in the summer?

Becasue they have no where else to hang out. The less busy a child or teenager is in the summer, the more trouble they can get into.

My son is only 8 so he doesn’t hang around fast food places. I plan activities with his day care providers that engage his mind and body. Hopefully that will carry out for the next 10 years, huh?

School kids driving me crazy, will they ever settle down?

I’m at an Elementary School and all of the kids are driving me crazy!! How do I get them to stop without yelling at them? I don’t have the right to. I am just a teenager. I have a snow day today, but i am sick too. The kids here are being really loud! My mom is trying to calm them down but they just won’t. Please help! I am about to explode.

Get their attention with clapping patterns, lights on and off, ring a bell, whatever. Then find something they want and bribe them – table points, free time, game time, lucky dips, lollies, story time… Get them competing – the quietest table/child in the next minute gets a prize…okay the quietest over the next 5 minutes gets a prize etc. This is all short term desperation stuff though!

I personally like to have music playing softly and tell them that if their noise level is right they will hear the music, if they can’t hear it they are too loud, if i have to stop them three times then no more music, no more fun stuff, and i threaten something incredibly boring like copying out the dictionary :D

It’s easier to try and prevent them getting hyper to begin with than to settle them down though, by giving them stuff to do that requires them to be more quiet and focussed.

How do you answer the crazy things kids ask you?

my daughter hasnt hit that phase yet. i just want to hear how some other parents respond.

You just answer them as they come. You can’t possibly anticipate what they’ll ask. Also a childcare professional I very much respect said that the brighter they are the more questions they will ask and that asking questions is a way of getting our attention.

How bright are those who think school kids would go crazy over Bush’s reaction to 911 if he excused himself?

How bright are those who think that first grade kids would go crazy if someone came into there classroom and quietly informed Bush of 911 and Bush quietly excused himself and left the classroom? NO student heard the informer give Bush the information!!!

Keep in mind that the footage of him being informed were not only seen by the kids, but by also the media and all of their viewers. So, just saying that only kids would panic, would be a wrong assumption.

EDIT*
To Bloated Toad: What a common strawman arguement, using a quote and taking it out of context. Look at the link, it has the conversation on tape.
